FAQs
Do you take my insurance?
- I participate with Medicare, Blue Cross (Highmark), and Highmark Health Options.
What about out-of-network benefits?
- Although fees are to be paid at the time of service, my billing company will, as a courtesy, submit claims to your insurance company for your reimbursement.
I’ve never done this before and it’s overwhelming to make the call. What happens?
- The first step is making the call or sending me an email. I’m usually with a client so you’re likely to get my voicemail. Leave a message and I will get back to you, although it could be a couple days. I make these calls when I have at least 20 minutes to devote to our conversation and I have very little downtime during my work days. I check voicemail and email Monday through Thursday.
- When we do speak, you’ll tell me just a little bit about what’s bothering you so I can begin to get a feel for whether or not I’m the right therapist for you. You can ask any questions you may have.
- If you decide to make an appointment I’ll gather information and we’ll schedule something.
- I’ll send you intake paperwork in advance.
- When the first appointment day comes, we’ll meet for just over an hour. You’ll describe your concerns more fully and I’ll ask a lot of questions. Usually, by the end of this session, we’ll have an idea of whether or not it’s a good match.
- I’ll let you know my recommendation for proceeding, and we’ll make a decision about that.
